Tributes to and Memories of Buddy.

Yesterday was a sad day at Tiny Tales Farm.
ARMCH Buttin'Heads Pwiled High +*S went to the Rainbow Bridge.  He was 12
years old and we had him for 11 years.  He sired 36 doe kids and 36
bucklings.  He began to have a difficult time getting around in the late
winter.  We tried several remedies.  The vet said it wasn't arthritis, just
old age.  He also said he was retaining fluid around some organs.  It took
us a couple of weeks to decide it was best.  He went to sleep with his
massive head in my lap.  We will miss him.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. It's never easy to lose a favorite, even
after a good, long life. I could not have wished for a better home for
"Buddy".

It doesn't seem possible it was 12 years ago, March 1, he was born. He was
the "giant" among quads, 4.7 pounds, when the next largest was 2.9, thus his
name. I figured he had one horn to himself. His mom, Toastie, "cooked" them
a full 151 days, unusual (especially with quads) in my herd where 147-148 is
average.

Buddy's year older, maternal half-sister, Sesame, is still with me. Although
she hasn't settled for years, she still runs across the fields. You'd never
guess her age to look at her.

Thank you for providing the perfect place for Buddy to live, and live out,
his life. Thanks also for keeping me informed. It means so much.

David & Jeanette,
We are sorry to hear that you lost your buddy but it sounds as if he had
good long and comfortable life and made some meaningful contributions in
your herd.    I would like to share a poem with you authored by a goat owner
in California.
Noah

LAST WORDS
Owner Mine,
      I am an old doe.
Do not look sad to see me like this.
Keep the tears from your eyes, even as mine dim.
Yes, I will pass soon,
But remember me not as you see me now,
My head lying cradled in your lap.
My life has been long for my species,
Each year behind me productive.
You have been blessed with my daughters,
My sons have done you proud.

Owner Mine,
      I am no longer suffering.
My shudders are not pain,
Even as you weep, so do I.
Remember the memories we've had.
The first time we met, when I nuzzled your hand,
Looking up at you with winsome eyes.
Remember the shows, our first win together.
You were euphoric, your body vibrating with elation;
You hugged me and kissed my nose.
I remember it all.

Owner Mine,
When I have sighed my last breath,
I hope you don't mourn long for me,
Nor blame yourself for my passing.
I have lived my life in all its fullness.
Together we have endured victory and defeat,
Hardship and success with countless dreams come true
            And just as many disappointments.
You talked to me, bared your soul to me, cried with me.
I was your friend when you wanted to be alone
You were my savior in my times of need.

Owner Mine,
My blood lives on in our herd.
They'll keep alive all the memories in your heart.
Though I shall pass this day,
When you look at them, remember me,
Because for every high mark earned, for every ribbon,
You have given me the greatest honor of all:
You believed in me, granting a chance at life
to that scrawny doeling hiding in the corner
Amidst a truckload of kids headed for the auction.
For giving me that chance, I have given you a lifetime of thanks.

Crystalline Dreams,

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of this guy.  I just loved it when he walked into the ring and handily won over the full size bucks! I probably shouldn't have, since some of those full size bucks were mine. (-;  But he was a truly gorgeous boy.  I hope you have lots of kids coming to remind you of him and give you lots of goatie hugs.
Robin Nichols

We are so sorry.  It is hard to lose our friends

I bet you do miss your Buddy! At least you got to have him for such a long time. So many bucks just don't live as long and you sure were fortunate! And such nice babies he gave you over the years.
I am sorry for your loss.

Soooooo Sorry to hear about your sweet boy!
Its a great blessing that he was so prolific and his genetics will live on for many generations!

Hi folks...sorry to hear about your buck. I remember when he won a couple of his GCH legs. Good to know you've got some of his kids to remember him.

Oh Dave and Jeanette - I'm so sorry....he was a dandy boy!  I'm so glad that
his life lives on in his progeny!

I am so sorry for your loss.  Maybe there is comfort in  knowing that your
boy is in a better place.

Doesn't it always hurt to say goodbye?  This poem is so true.  You fight to keep them alive, and love them with all your heart.  As the years ago by, you see them begin to fade, and with each years passing you wonder if you will have another day with them.
Wanda

What a sad day and a sad day in the history of Nigerians.  ARMCH
Buttin'Heads Pwiled High was a legend and will be missed, but will be
remembered forever by all the does and bucklings he sired.  You guys are in
our prayers.  I know your hearts had to have broken to loose such a special
member of your family.
